Palmetto man dies in fatal car crash on Interstate 275, Florida Highway Patrol says

A Palmetto man died Wednesday afternoon after he lost control of his car on Interstate 275, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.

The 59-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry south on I-275 near mile marker 37 in Tampa, according to a crash report. Around 3:15 p.m., the man lost control of the car and hit a stopped Honda Accord and a barrier wall, troopers said.

Troopers believe the man suffered a medical emergency. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, troopers said.

The driver’s identity has not been released to the public.

No further information on the crash was available as of Thursday afternoon.
