Emergency repairs to the Manatee Avenue Bridge are complete and traffic is moving in both directions without delay, the Bradenton Police Department announced on social media Thursday morning.

The bridge, also known as the Anna Maria Island Bridge, was closed to eastbound traffic due to a hole in the road Wednesday afternoon, but repairs are now complete and traffic is moving freely.

A photo posted by the agency showed a hole in the road that appeared to reveal the reinforcing bar support in the bridge. An FDOT spokesperson did not immediately respond to the Bradenton Herald’s request for comment about what caused the hole.
