Conn’s HomePlus is closing its Bradenton store less than four years after opening.

The store, which sells appliances, electronics, mattresses and furniture, is headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas and began in 1890 as the Eastham Plumbing and Heat Company, according to the company’s history.

The Bradenton store, located in the Cortez Plaza shopping center at 4495 14th Street W., had liquidation sale signs posted on the front doors Monday afternoon. That store opened Feb. 5, 2021, as part of Conn’s expansion into Florida, according to a press release.

Conn’s is closing around 100 stores as part of filing for bankruptcy last week, Bloomberg reported.

The company has more than 170 stores in 15 states.
