A 45-year-old Bradenton man died after he was hit by a car while trying to cross U.S. 41 in Manatee County on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was attempting to cross U.S. 41 (14th Street West) south of 51st Avenue Drive West around 10:37 p.m. when he was hit by a sedan that was driving south.

The Bradenton man, whose name was not released by troopers, died at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, a 27-year-old Sarasota man, had minor injuries after the crash, troopers said.

FHP said the crash was still under investigation on Sunday morning.
