Traffic? Environment? Safety? Manatee County asks for local feedback in new survey
A new survey asks Manatee County residents to rate how well local government is doing in key areas like reducing traffic, protecting the environment and promoting safety.
It also asks for opinions on some hot-button issues, including how fast the county is growing.
Other subjects in the 10-question survey include how often residents use county parks and libraries and how satisfied they are with trash service, transit, utilities and water quality.
The survey is anonymous. Respondents are only asked to provide an age range and their general area of residence within Manatee County by clicking on a map.
How to take Manatee County survey
The survey launched in December, and it doesn’t have a set end date, Manatee County spokesperson Bill Logan said in an email.
As of Tuesday, the survey has received over 1,300 responses, Logan said.
“Overall, surveys offer a systematic and structured approach to understanding citizen opinions, providing valuable insights for governments to better serve their constituents,” Logan wrote.
The county also hopes to use the feedback to raise awareness about county-led initiatives, Logan said.
He said county government officials plan to use similar surveys in the future.
