A motorcyclist died after a crash near Manatee Avenue Wednesday night, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

A vehicle turning from Manatee Avenue onto 30th Street West struck a motorcycle, according to police. The crash temporarily blocked eastbound lanes and rerouted traffic Wednesday night.

The police department’s Traffic Homicide Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene around 8:40 p.m.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries, according to police. Further information about the motorcyclist, such as his name and age, was not immediately available Thursday morning.

All lanes were re-opened Wednesday night, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing.
