Parrish car crash in Manatee County leaves 1 dead, 3 in critical condition, FHP says

A two-vehicle crash in East Manatee County left one person dead Thursday morning.

The incident happened at the intersection of State Road 62 and Saffold Road, located east of Parrish, Florida Highway Patrol said.

One of the vehicles was driving in the westbound lane approaching the intersection, FHP said. The second vehicle was stopped at a stop sign while facing the southbound at the intersection, FHP said.

The second car began to pull forward and made a left turn into the first vehicle, hitting the left side resulting in both vehicles rotating in the road and ending up near the State Road 62 south shoulder, according to FHP.

One of the vehicles had three passengers, with a 23-year-old female passenger dying in the crash, FHP said. A 24-year-old female passenger was listed in critical condition, a 45-year-old female passenger in serious condition and the 51-year-old driver from Bowling Green is in stable condition, FHP said.

The 59-year-old male driver from Texas of the other vehicle was listed in critical condition, the FHP report said. There were no passengers in his vehicle, FHP said.
