Trader Joe’s now has an opening date for its first Bradenton area grocery
The first Trader Joe’s grocery in Manatee County now has an opening time and date.
The new store at 8111 Cooper Creek Blvd. opens Thursday, Oct. 26.
Moments before doors open at 8 a.m., there will be a brief ribbon cutting ceremony with Trader Joe’s crew members on hand to welcome customers.
This 12,000-square-foot store in the The Shoppes at University Town Center shopping center is west of Interstate 75 and north of University Parkway.
Interior artwork highlights neighboring parks and schools, wildlife and local activities.
Through the company’s neighborhood shares program, the new Trader Joe’s will donate 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to consume to a range of nonprofit, community-based organizations seven days a week.
The first Trader Joe’s opened in Pasadena, Calif., in 1967.
The Sarasota Trader Joe’s opened in 2012 at 4101 S. Tamiami Trail. At the time, it was the second Trader Joe’s in Florida. The first was in Naples.
The Bradenton store is the company’s 23rd in Florida.
As a neighborhood grocery store, Trader Joe’s seeks to hire where its store are located. Hiring efforts are still underway.
The company had a three-day hiring fair Oct. 9-11.
