Manatee County’s football players are already putting together memorable performances as the 2023-24 high school season heats up.

This week, we resume a weekly feature in which we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Manatee County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until about 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7.

You may vote as often as you like until then.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Bon Bean Jr., Manatee: Bean caught five passes for 60 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown, in Manatee’s 27-14 victory over Sarasota last Friday.

Kymistrii Young, Parrish Community: A sophomore, Young had five receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns in Parrish Community’s 47-27 loss to Englewood Lemon Bay.

Ben Biasini, Parrish Community: Biasini helped the Bulls’ defense with 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery in the 47-27 loss to Englewood Lemon Bay.

Clay Ash, IMG Academy White: The senior running back ran for 227 yards on 19 attempts and scored four touchdowns. Ash’s longest carry was a 35-yard run in the Ascenders’ 41-21 win over Key West.

Ty Hill Jr., IMG Academy White: Of his six tackles, four went for a loss. He also had two passes defended and caused one fumble in IMG’s 41-21 win over Key West.
