Kitchen fire engulfs Bradenton house, leaving 12 without a home, fire dept. says

Twelve Bradenton residents are without a home after a kitchen fire engulfed their house in flames on Saturday, the City of Bradenton Fire Department posted on Facebook.

Firefighters from the city of Bradenton Fire Department responded to the fire around 7:48 pm July 8 after reports of a kitchen fire at a 800 block of 22nd Avenue West.

Within four minutes, firefighters arrived and found heavy smoke and flames overtaking approximately 75% of the single-story home.

All residents were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in 21 minutes with the help of 12 firefighters.

Five Bradenton fire crews, a mutual aid crew from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue, three Manatee County EMS units and the Bradenton Police Department all responded.

The Red Cross assisted the 12 residents who lost their home due to the fire.
