Bradenton’s iconic Shake Pit put the anticipation for the DeSoto Grand Parade into perspective, playing on the lyrics from a famous Broadway musical.
“Tomorrow, tomorrow. Parade is tomorrow. Only a day away,” the restaurant sign said Friday, referencing “Annie.”
A few chairs are set along Manatee Avenue and 39th Street West. There’s also caution tape to create pockets of reserved space for Saturday evening’s much-anticipated parade.
Last year’s parade was canceled due to inclement weather, but parade organizers are hopeful they will have the chance to march the route this year for a celebration that has been a local staple since 1941.
