Thunderstorms and rain coming to Bradenton, Sarasota this week, weather forecast says

The National Weather Service is forecasting a stormy week in the Bradenton-Sarasota area.

The NWS is predicting a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Monday, though the most severe weather is projected to be east of Bradenton and Sarasota.

The forecast for rain and thunderstorms drops to 20% by Monday evening.

NWS tweeted a map showing the Bradenton and Sarasota area could expect about a tenth of an inch in rainfall, though that number could increase to 0.25 inches with thunderstorms.

Chances of rain, thunderstorms and showers range from 40% to 50% for the rest of the week, NWS said.
