Florida’s Sarasota Bradenton airport just had its busiest single month ever
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is seeing record travelers.
In March, the airport located off University Parkway near U.S. 301 and U.S. 41, set a passengers record with 514,889, the highest number in the airport’s history — which dates back to 1939 — a news release said.
It was a 16% increase compared to March 2022 and a 10% increase from the past 12 months, according to a news release.
Those last 12 months saw more than 4 million passengers at SRQ.
“SRQ has reached a multitude of milestones this March. Not only can we celebrate a record half a million passengers in a single month and over 4 million passengers in the last 12 months, but also the groundbreaking of a new 5-gate terminal expansion,” SRQ president and CEO Rick Piccolo said in the news release.
“The continuation of record-breaking numbers demonstrates the need for expansion and represents a major shift in how SRQ is transforming to serve the needs of our fast-growing community.”
