Bradenton man dies in US 41 motorcycle crash with SUV, Florida Highway Patrol says

A 68-year-old Bradenton man died Sunday night in a motorcycle crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.

He was traveling north on U.S. 41 and approaching the Florida Boulevard intersection behind an SUV that slowed for a changing traffic signal around 7:16 p.m., an FHP report said.

The motorcyclist did not slow down and collided with the rear of the SUV, according to a crash report. The man fell from his motorcycle and endured critical injuries, FHP said.

The man was taken to Blake Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the report.

The driver of the SUV, a 48-year-old Bradenton woman, had minor injuries, FHP said.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
