Bradenton railroad crossing to close for repair. Here’s how it will affect your commute

Bradenton Police Department via Facebook

Drivers commuting along Ninth Avenue West near downtown Bradenton will have to take detour routes starting Tuesday at 6 a.m., Bradenton police said.

That’s because CSX Transportation, a supplier of rail-based freight transportation, is closing a railroad crossing at that time to make repairs.

It’s located between Fifth Street West and Sixth Street West at Ninth Avenue West in Bradenton.

No traffic is allowed across the track until the work is complete, which is expected to last until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the Bradenton Police Department said in a news release.

The dates for the closure are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Signage will be in place to mark detour routes, the release said.

BPD said drivers should plan alternate routes and anticipate delays on Sixth Avenue West and 13th Avenue West.
