How cold will it get in Bradenton, Manatee County this weekend? Temps in 30s possible

You know the fair is in town when things start to get cold in Manatee County.

Wherever you may find yourself this weekend, be it the Manatee County Fair, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, or the Multicultural Festival, if you’re in the Bradenton area, you’ll want to bundle up.

With a high of 76, Thursday might be the last warm day of the week before a cold front moves into Florida, causing temperatures to plunge into the 30s and low 40s over the weekend.

It won’t be “incredibly cold” on Friday, said National Weather Service Tampa Meteorologist Jennifer Hubbard. The cold front heading into the area Friday morning will bring a lot of cooler weather behind it, and Sunday will be the coldest day this weekend.

Areas near the water may stay in the 40s but further inland temperatures could get into the upper 30s.

The incoming cold front will not be as cold or as long-lasting as the one that hit the area during the Christmas holiday, when temperatures dropped to 35 degrees, Hubbard said. “But it will be a few days of some pretty chilly temps.”

Residents should brace themselves for serious winds over the next three days, in addition to rain and cold weather.

Friday through Sunday, wind gusts will range from 11 to 28 mph.
