The 2022 high school football season concludes this weekend in Fort Lauderdale.
But for Manatee County teams, the road ended early in the state playoffs. The season saw several standout performances.
So which player was the best in the Bradenton area this season?
You can you decide which one should be the Bradenton Herald’s Player of the Year.
Fans can vote until the poll closes at noon Tuesday, Dec. 20, and the winner will be announced via social media on the Herald’s Facebook and Instagram.

- Cory Sanders, Manatee junior: 148 carries for 802 rushing yards, 10 TDs
- Ean Johnson-Kelley, Manatee sophomore: 5.2 tackles per game, 15.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 20 hurries
- Zander Smith, Palmetto sophomore: 1638 passing yards, 56.3 completion percentage, 92.6 QB rating, 14 TDs, 7 INTs
- Jamil Williams, Palmetto senior: 8.6 tackles per game, 17.0 TFL, 4 sacks
- Trayvon Pinder, Braden River junior: 182 carries for 1086 rushing yards, 13 TDs
- Aidan Dangler, Braden River senior: 10.1 tackles per game, 16.5 TFL, 3 sacks, 3 hurries
- Clayton Dees, Lakewood Ranch junior: 1704 passing yards, 51.5 completion percentage, 89.5 QB rating, 13 TDs, 3 INTs
- Kevin Everhart, Lakewood Ranch senior: 147 carries for 1065 rushing yards, 23 TDs, 1468 all purpose yards
- Dalin Koscielski, Lakewood Ranch junior: 5 INTs, 4 passes defended, 1 fumble recovery
