A 62-year-old LaBelle man was killed after a crash involving a cow early Monday on State Road 70 in Myakka City.

At 1:34 a.m. Monday, the 62-year-old man was driving west on SR 70, near Betts Road, when a cow wandered onto the road and into the path of his SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The SUV crashed into the cow and the impact caused the SUV to flip. The driver was thrown from the vehicle.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The cow was also killed in the crash, FHP spokesman Greg Bueno said.
