SNAP food benefits now available to Bradenton area residents affected by Hurricane Ian
The Manatee County Government will host an in-person interview site for people who were impacted by Hurricane Ian and need food assistance.
The location is at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto, and it will be open from Friday, Dec. 2, until Sunday, December 4.
The site’s hours will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Individuals and families affected by Hurricane Ian can get monetary food assistance through Florida’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP).
The D-SNAP program is only available to people who do not currently get regular SNAP benefits.
Manatee County residents who pre-registered online but were unable to complete their D-SNAP phone interview can come to the site for an in-person interview or call the D-SNAP Call Center at 850-663-1919.
Residents who were approved for D-SNAP during the phone interview will get their EBT card by mail and should not attend the on-site D-SNAP location, according to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) website.
DCF will reopen pre-registration for Manatee County residents who did not pre-register online before the Oct. 23 deadline.
Applicants should pre-register online before coming on-site or calling the D-SNAP Call Center to complete their interview. To pre-register, go online to myflfamilies.com/dsnap.
