House fire in West Bradenton sends one to the hospital and dog rescued, official says

At least one person has taken to a hospital as firefighters worked to extinguish a fire at a home in West Bradenton, an Emergency Communications Center official confirmed.

At 10:38 a.m. Tuesday, a fire was reported in the 5300 block of 14th Avenue Drive West in Bradenton.

Cedar Hammock Fire Control District quickly responded to the home, finding the homeowner and others had already made it out of the home.

At least one person had to be taken to Blake Medical Center to be treated.

The family’s dog was pulled from the home by firefighters.

West Manatee Fire Rescue responded to the fire as well to assist. A total of at least three fire engines, one ladder and two ambulances responded to the scene.

The fire was extinguished an hour and two minutes later.

This is the second major residential fire in two days in Bradenton.
