Nathan Benderson Park reopens after weeks of storm cleanup from Hurricane Ian

After being closed for weeks because of Hurricane Ian, a popular park in Sarasota County frequented by many Manatee County residents has officially reopened.

Nathan Benderson Park reopened to the public at 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to a post on the park’s official Facebook page.

Before returning, visitors should keep in mind that some areas of the park still require storm cleanup. Traffic cones have been placed in those areas.

In addition, the park’s playground will stay closed until further notice in order to ensure it’s safe for children to play on.

The park will remain open during its regular hours of operation, which are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
