A sister store of HomeGoods will open 1st Florida location at UTC in Sarasota-Bradenton
A wave of new businesses will open at Sarasota’s University Town Center in the coming months.
A Homesense furniture store will debut its first Florida location at UTC in a 30,000-square-foot storefront in the West District at UTC next to Old Navy on the western side of Cattlemen Drive on Nov.10.
Homesense sells a wide variety of brand-name furniture and home décor at affordable prices. It is a part of TJX Company, which also owns TJMaxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls.
TJX opened its first Homesense retail location in Canada in 2001 and then expanded to the United States in 2017.
There are around 40 Homesense locations in the United States, most of which are in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of Homesense’s entry into Florida,” Mark Chait, executive director of leasing for Benderson Development, said in a statement. “The UTC district is known for its exciting brands and experiences, and we’re pleased to introduce another first-to-market retailer to the greater Sarasota-Bradenton community.”
