Which beaches and parks are open in Bradenton, Manatee after Ian? Here’s a list

Manatee County is still recovering from Hurricane Ian’s sweep through Southwest Florida, and some of the area’s parks remain closed to the public as cleanup efforts continue.

But several beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors have already reopened, including all of Manatee’s beaches.

And in good news for beach lovers, county parks staff reported Sunday that there was virtually no beach loss on Anna Maria Island from the storm.

As of Friday at noon, all of Anna Maria Island’s public beaches are open to the public.

Robinson, Emerson, Rye and Duette preserves have reopened, though some trails remain off-limits due to flooding or debris.

While other parks are expected to reopen later this week, Blackstone Park, Braden River Park, and Myakka Park will also be closed until further notice since they are being used as storm response sites.

“We are working to get these facilities back as quickly as possible, even as we are focusing on immediate human needs and safety,” Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes said in a news release.
