2 restaurant chains new to Bradenton-Sarasota are coming to Center Point development
Construction of new restaurants is leading the way at Center Point, a multi-use development now rising on 50 acres in the heart of Lakewood Ranch.
There are some local favorites and some national chains on the menu for the development south of University Parkway and east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
Among the most recently announced restaurants are Lake Park Diner and Crisp & Green.
Lake Park Diner, based in Naples, is a casual eatery that focuses on quality, sustainable products and an emphasis on health and the environment.
“It’s a different kind of concept. It’s really cool,” said Brett Hutchens, president of Casto Southeast Realty Services.
Lake Park Diner describes itself as the diner with a conscience.
“We don’t believe in the use of steroids, antibiotics, hormones, or GMOs in any of our food. We source the best, most sustainable and organic products when possible to meet the standard for our menu. We’re here to make a statement and carve a foundation that hopefully future restaurants and diners can follow,” the company says on its web site.
Crisp & Green was founded in late 2016 by owner and CEO Steele Smiley in Wayzata, Minn.
Crisp & Green has announced plans to open 23 restaurants in Florida. The first three have opened in Venice, Naples and Orlando.
“We combine a delicious and sustainable chef-crafted menu featuring salads, grain bowls, and smoothies with genuine hospitality to give each and every guest an exceptionally crisp and refreshing experience,” the company says on its website.
Other restaurants
Previously announced for Center Point are Owens Fish Camp, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Olivia’s and McDonald’s.
McDonald’s is expected to open on Sept. 12, followed by Owens Fish Camp in late October or early November, Brett Hutchens, president of Casto Southeast Realty Services, said this week.
Founded in 1952 in Sarasota, Owens Fish Camp is known for its Old Florida ambience and seafood offerings.
Paul Caragiulo, owner of Owens Fish Camp, previously told the Bradenton Herald that the restaurant would have about 160 seats, including indoor and outside seats.
The new restaurant will be only the second Owens Fish Camp. The first is at 516 Burns Court in Sarasota.
“It is a restaurant full of history and Southern hospitality. The casual atmosphere allows guests to relax and enjoy what makes Florida so special,” the Owens Fish Camp website says.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is expected to break ground in the next 30 days, Hutchens said.
Also planned for Center Point is a Chamberlin’s natural foods grocery, a company founded in Central Florida in 1935.
Chamberlin’s will anchor one of three shopping centers at Center Point and should open in June or July of 2023, Hutchens said.
“There is a lot coming. There are two other really exciting restaurants coming, but they don’t want to be announced yet,” Hutchens said. “It’s going to be really good, but we have had supply chain issues.”
Also rising at Center Point are a 42,000-square-foot building for a single tenant, whose identify has not yet been disclosed and a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Center Point is also home to the 77,000-square-foot Center Point Medical Center, 6600 University Parkway, and to Roper Technologies, 6901 Professional Parkway E.
