Here are all the concerts and Broadway shows coming to Sarasota’s Van Wezel in 2022-23
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall’s lineup of shows for the 2022-23 season is here.
The COVID-19 pandemic was a major setback to the entertainment venue over the past several years, causing cancellations, delays and fewer acts than theatergoers were used to seeing. But now the venue is ramping back up.
“We are ready for the return of a full-blown, star-studded season,” Van Wezel executive director Mary Bensel said in a news release.
Sarasota’s iconic purple clam shell will welcome concerts, musicals, performance art and big names in comedy in upcoming months.
Highlights include recent Broadway hits like “Mean Girls” and “Aladdin” and all-time classics like “Chicago” and “CATS.”
Comics Jerry Seinfeld, Rita Rudner and Robert Klein, Leanne Morgan, Jay Leno and Daniel Tosh will bring their latest stand-up to Sarasota.
“After the past few years, we could all really use a laugh, so we’re bringing in an incredible lineup of comedians,” Van Wezel executive director Mary Bensel said in a news release.
Bands and musicians slated to perform include singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, rock greats America, country artist Scotty McCreery, Motown legends The Temptations and The Four Tops and folk songstress Judy Collins.
Single tickets for the upcoming season go on sale Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased through the box office at 941-263-6799 or online at vanwezel.org.
