Downtown Bradenton block parties are back. Main Street Live returns after 2 years
This fall, a popular live music event will return to downtown Bradenton for the first time since 2020.
Main Street Live is a block party on Old Main Street featuring live bands, vendors and activities. It went on hiatus when the COVID-19 pandemic hit over two years ago, along with many other local gatherings.
On the night of Oct. 29, downtown will once again come to life as the free monthly music series kicks off again.
There are six Main Street Live dates planned between October 2022 and April 2023. As in the past, several of the street parties will be geared toward celebrating the holidays.
Main Street Live events will be held on the Saturday before Halloween, the night before Thanksgiving, on New Year’s Eve and on St. Patrick’s Day. A Main Street Live will also be held on the weekend of the Bradenton Area River Regatta.
Past Main Street Live music lineups have featured an eclectic mix of genres. This year’s series will open with Stormbringer, a Tampa Bay area rock band. Future bands are to be announced.
Main Street Live events were formerly produced by the Old Main Street Merchants Association. Now, live music and entertainment company Independent Jones is teaming up with the City of Bradenton Community Redevelopment Agency to bring the block parties back to life with some new twists.
Visitors can look forward to a vendor market, food trucks, family-friendly activities, photo ops, a nonprofit showcase and commercial booths from local businesses, Independent Jones CEO Morgan Bettes Angell said in a news release.
“We hope to see everyone there to reconnect with family and neighbors to dance the evening away,” Bettes Angell said.
“We look forward to Main Street Live becoming one of the premier outdoor concert series of our city and supporting our local businesses,” added Bradenton CRA executive director Katerina Gerakios-Siren.
