Do you want a parking garage on Anna Maria Island? Vote in our poll
There’s nothing like a relaxing day at the beach on Anna Maria Island, but finding a parking space at the popular tourist destination can be a headache.
After major changes to how city officials offer parking near the beach, Manatee County officials are offering to build a parking garage on the island. Some island leaders are opposed to the idea, though, arguing that it would only invite more traffic.
So we want to hear from Bradenton Herald readers. What do you think about the possibility of building a three-story parking garage along the Gulf of Mexico?
Would a parking garage make sense on the island? Do you think it would make it easier to visit the beach or would it ruin the small-town charm? Cast your vote in the poll below.
The final results of the poll will be reviewed and posted on the Bradenton Herald website at a later date.
