Florida couple celebrate 100th birthdays on 2/22/22. ‘Their love is an inspiration.’
A Bradenton couple married for 51 years celebrated their 100th birthdays together on the very rare date of 2/22/22.
Jeannie Dahler was born on Feb. 22, 1922, and her husband, Milton, was born a few months later in May.
On Tuesday, they celebrated with friends and family.
“Their love is an inspiration to our family,” said their son Dave Dahler. “They have just been amazing together, and I think that is the reason they’ve made it to 100.”
It’s the second time Jeannie has experienced the 2/22/22 palindrome — a word or number that reads the same front to back — in her lifetime. This year, she received many gifts, birthday cards, flowers and a letter of congratulations from Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown.
The couple moved from Pennsylvania because of their love for the beach and have lived at Freedom Village in Bradenton since 2004. Milton served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp in the Mediterranean Sea during World War II.
They inspire their family and bring smiles to the faces of their neighbors, Dave Dahler said, and are the proud parents of four sons, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
