Valentine’s Day brought vows of love at a mass wedding during the Manatee County Clerk’s second annual group wedding ceremony.
Clerk of Court Angel Colonneso performed a ceremony for more than 11 couples at the Historic Courthouse gazebo in downtown Bradenton on Monday.
Couples filed onto a gravel-strewn open space to the strains of cello music as the wind whipped a flag in the courtyard. After Colonneso pronounced the couples married, the newly-married smiled and kissed.
The fees for the ceremony and printed photo were waived for couples who showed up to make their love official.
Licenses to participate had to be obtained between Dec. 16 and Feb. 11.
