Say ‘I do’ in Bradenton or ‘I do again’ in Siesta Key at Valentines Day group weddings
Roses are red and chocolates are sweet, but nothing says “I love you” like tying the knot.
On Valentine’s Day in Manatee and Sarasota counties, couples have two options to celebrate their love by participating in a group wedding or vow renewal.
Lovers can and become newlyweds at the second annual group wedding ceremony hosted by the Manatee County Clerk of Court at 2 p.m. Feb. 14.
A single group ceremony officiated by Clerk Angel Colonneso will be held in the gazebo on the front lawn of the Manatee County Historic Courthouse, 1115 Manatee Ave. West in Bradenton.
After the “I do’s,” couples will receive a photo and a marriage certificate. The $20 photo fee and $30 ceremony fee will be waived, and refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
Prior to the ceremony, couples will need their marriage license and to pay the standard license fees by Feb. 11, the Manatee County clerk’s office said in a news release.
Couples who want to participate must RSVP by Feb. 4 at http://clerk-wedding-22.eventbrite.com/?s=161141219.
For more information on how to secure your marriage license, contact the Marriage and Passport department at 941-741-4020 or apply for a marriage license online, https://www.manateeclerk.com/marriage-application/
The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resource will host their annual Say I Do, Again at Siesta Key Beach and Nokomis Beach from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
Couples can reaffirm their marriage vows in a non-denominational sunset beach ceremony included with music, refreshments and photos.
Registered couples will receive a flower and renewal certification. The cost to pre-register is $15 and on-site registration is credit card-only and $25 per pair. Registration will start at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
“Sharing a gorgeous sunset on our beautiful beaches with the most special person in your life is the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day,” Program Coordinator Catherine Wunderlich said in a news release Thursday.
The Siesta Key Beach ceremony will be officiated by Judge Riva and Nokomis Beach by Judge Ruhl.
Siesta Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key and Nokomis Beach is at 100 Casey Key Road on Casey Key.
