A Palmetto teen escaped a stalled out car before train hit, Florida Highway Patrol says

While a train was approaching, a 16-year-old’s car stalled out on railroad tracks in Palmetto, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The train hit the front left side of the vehicle and pushed it about 300 feet south on the track, FHP said.

But the teen was able exit a car without injuries, FHP said.

The incident happened at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an FHP report, at 39th St. East near 4th Ave. Blvd. East.

No further details were provided.
