Man, 67, found dead in Manatee River in Bradenton, cops say

The body of an unidentified person was found floating in Manatee River on Sunday morning, according to Bradenton police.

Detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine a cause of death for Douglas R. Pickrell, but police said they do do not believe he was the victim of foul play. Police released his name on Tuesday, after next of kin were notified.

About 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Pickrell’s body was found floating in the 200 block of Riverside Drive East, near Manatee Memorial Hospital, police said in a tweet.
