Golden Herald Awards are going online this year. Here’s how to watch the celebration

The 2020 Golden Herald Awards will premiere at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The annual awards ceremony, established in 1978 by the Bradenton Herald, honors the community service efforts of standout high school seniors from public and private schools in Manatee County.

The 43rd annual awards presentation will be a little different thanks to the coronavirus, but community members will still be able to see it from home. Students will be honored in 16 categories for community service, including through arts, athletics, academics and vocational studies.

This year’s ceremony will be presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital and will premiere on Manatee Educational Television’s TV station and YouTube channel at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Tune in to watch on channel 645 on Spectrum, channel 19 on Comcast, channel 31 on Frontier FIOS or at http://www.metvweb.com. A link to the YouTube broadcast is below.
