Palmetto man killed in crash in Pinellas, FHP reports

A 37-year-old Palmetto man is dead after an overnight crash in Pinellas County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.

According to the crash report, George Patrick Dunne was traveling northbound along the Interstate 275 exit ramp heading toward Roosevelt Boulevard when he attempted to pass a mass transit bus.

Troopers say Dunne lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. According to the report, Dunne was ejected from his vehicle at impact and died at the scene.
