Crash kills one in Manatee County, according to FHP

A 38-year-old Sarasota man is dead after a single-vehicle crash just before midnight Tuesday in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Alfredo Miranda was driving in the right lane of southbound U.S. 41 just north of Pearl Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle during an overnight rain storm that passed through the area.

Miranda’s vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree, troopers say.

He died on the scene.
