Bradenton strip club for sale. It will cost you about a million dollar bills

The Peek-A-Boo Lounge in Bradentonl is for sale. The owner is asking for just under $1.2 million for a building that turns 55 years old this year.

According to real estate websites, the strip club’s 2,700 square foot building at 5412 14th St. W., which sits on more than a half-acre of a mostly aging parking lot, is listed with Remax Platinum Realty. The realtor confirmed the property was “recently listed.”

Built in 1965, the property has had essentially one owner under a family trust since 1978 when it was purchased for $190,000.

Peek-A-Boo Lounge of Bradenton Inc. has been operated by Dean Bowley since the purchase, but according to the Florida Division of Corporations, the corporate entity deactivated in September of 2018.

Dianne Anderson, the listed agent, declined to comment.

Word of the sale quickly began circulating around social media with rumors that the club had closed, but a homeless man camped behind the club — who noted that his mother once worked there — said the club appears to still be open. The marquee outside also announces the club is still hiring “mid shift” dancers.

However, most of the social media comments expressed joy over the prospect that the club could change hands and potentially become something else.

Land uses allowed on the property include night clubs, lounges and bars. A 1999 ordinance prohibits nudity in any establishment.

The lounge also made headlines in 2014 when it drew the ire of the county commission for rather explicit language it displayed on its outside sign, which ownership removed a short time later. In 2016, a man reported he had been robbed of his drugs and cash after he gave a stripper from the club a ride to Ellenton.

According to the Manatee County Property Appraiser website, the asking price is substantially below current assessed values. Between the land value and recent improvements made to the 1965 structure, the combined value is listed at just below $320,000.
