The Epic is Pearl Homes’ latest development in Bradenton. It’s more workforce housing
Following in the footsteps of the company’s other planned projects in Manatee County, Pearl Homes is proposing to build yet another high-tech workforce housing development in Bradenton.
The new project, known as The Epic, will be built at 1328 15th St W., near Manatee County’s Salvation Army. Marshall Gobuty, president of Pearl Homes, announced the 21-unit complex at Wednesday’s Community Redevelopment Agency meeting.
“The idea is technology, efficiency, sustainability and workforce housing,” Gobuty said.
Pearl Homes recently won approval of its general development plan for a 720-unit development in Ellenton called Our Lives. The affordable housing developer has also built homes in Cortez, and is planning to bring up to 200 units of affordable housing to the old Manatee Inns site at 1405 14th St. W.
Pearl Homes plans to move quickly on the project, with buildings going up in May and residents moved in by August. In an interview with the Bradenton Herald, Gobuty said he hopes the complex can play a role in revitalizing the neighborhood.
“It’s an area that needs investment. It needs love,” he explained. “This is the modern urbanism we always talk about.”
Gobuty acquired the half-acre of land last August for $72,500. The Epic project is slated to provide the same commitment to solar energy and smart home technology as other Pearl Homes developments, while keeping rent between $869 and $1,118 a month.
“This is going to be trendsetting in that neighborhood,” said Bradenton City Council member Patrick Roff. “This is fabulous, and the timetable you’ve given us is phenomenal.”
