Residents of this Bradenton neighborhood need to boil their water

Residents of the Cortez Gardens neighborhood in Manatee County will need to boil their water for cooking and drinking beginning Wednesday morning.

Manatee County Utilities issued the precautionary boil notice for the neighborhood between 40th Avenue West and 43rd Avenue West and 59th Street West and 60th Street West. Work on a water main tie-in is scheduled for from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday

Residents will be notified once the boil notice is lifted, which on average is 24 to 48 hours later after two consecutive water samples meet acceptable water quality standards.

Residents with questions can call 941-732-8811 ext. 5268 or 5216 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
