Manatee County Judge Mark Singer announces he will retire when term ends in 2021
A 14-year veteran of the bench, Manatee County Judge Mark Singer announced Friday afternoon that he will not seek re-election in 2020.
Singer, 67, began serving as a local judge in 2005. He last ran for re-election in 2014 without an opponent. Singer will enter retirement when his term ends on Jan. 4, 2021.
“For more than 14 years, I have had the privilege of serving the people of Manatee County, Florida, as Judge of the County Court. I am extremely grateful for this privilege,” Singer said in a prepared statement.
Singer presided over county civil and criminal cases in Division 4.
“I would like to convey my sincere appreciation to all of my judicial colleagues, the employees of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, the employees of the Clerk of Court for Manatee County, as well as the members of the various bar Associations within the Twelfth Circuit, the members of the Florida Bar in general and, most of all to the people of Manatee County, Florida,” he added.
