After an ‘extended foot pursuit,’ Manatee deputies get their goat

It wasn’t Billy the Kid that the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office had to deal with on Wednesday, but it was a kid of a billy — goat that is.

Baaaad boys, baaaad boys, what you going to do when they come for you?

Find your owner, of course.

At least that’s what the sheriff’s office hopes to do after corralling a goat that got loose in traffic in the 5800 block of 14th Street West.

“After an extended foot pursuit, he was apprehended and taken to the Manatee (County) jail farm to roam happily until owners are located,” the sheriff’s office tweeted out Thursday.

No worries, deputies noted. No one’s in trouble. The sheriff’s office just wants to return the goat to its rightful owner.
