Crash slowed traffic on Sunshine Skyway Bridge

Northbound traffic was backed up over the Sunshine Skyway after a crash that occurred during the Wednesday morning commute.

A crash on Interstate 275 north near mile marker 13 in Pinellas County saw the left lane of northbound traffic blocked early Wednesday morning, causing delays, according to Florida 511 traffic cameras. The lane has since been reopened and traffic was flowing normally by shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The crash and blocked lane had traffic backed up onto the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Cameras showed emergency vehicles on scene as of 8:15 a.m.

Florida Highway Patrol live traffic maps show the injury crash was reported around 7:45 a.m.

Around 9 a.m., FHP showed a crash on the Skyway also causing a roadblock. Traffic cameras did not show a delay in the area.

A third crash, this one in the southbound lanes of I-275 near mile marker two in Palmetto, was also reported shortly before 8 a.m., according to FHP. There is no reported roadblock.
