Dense fog advisory issued for Monday morning commute
No, you’re not just in a fog after watching the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the New England Patriots to win their first Super Bowl last night, it’s actually pretty foggy out there on this Monday morning.
A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Monday. Visibility could be one-quarter mile or less for areas around and east of Tampa Bay, according to the National Weather Service. Drivers should slow down, leave plenty of distance between vehicles and use low-beam headlights.

The Florida Highway Patrol’s live traffic map warns of patchy to heavy fog on Interstate 75 in Manatee County from mile marker 215 to mile marker 227. There is also a reported crash on I-75 in Ellenton at mile marker 226 that is blocking the left lane/
The fog will begin to burn off around 9 a.m. and gradually make way for a sunny day with a high near 74 degrees, according to the NWS. Fog is expected to return to the area, however, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings before 10 a.m. The high for both Tuesday and Wednesday is expected to be in the upper 70s.
Similarly warmer temperatures are expected to stick around the rest of the week, with highs predicted to stay in the upper 70s through Sunday, according to the NWS.
