Two residents displaced after house fire in Bradenton

Two Bradenton residents have been displaced after their home caught fire Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Bradenton Fire Department.

Crews from the Bradenton Fire Department and other local agencies responded at 12:57 p.m. to a report of a structure fire in the 2500 block of 20th Avenue West.

Upon arrival three minutes later, firefighters with the first responding units found smoke and flames coming from the rear utility room of the one-story, single-family residence, the release said.

By 1:21, the fire was ruled under control. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Bradenton Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.

Property damage was estimated at $25,000.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

A command unit and seven fire units with 13 firefighters and an investigator from the Bradenton department responded. Assisting at the scene were the Cedar Hammock Fire Department, the Manatee County Emergency Medical Service and the Bradenton Police Department.
