Gas leak shuts down lanes of U.S. 41 near airport
A portion of U.S. 41 near University Parkway is shut down Monday evening due to a gas leak, according to the Sarasota Police Department.
Officers are assisting Sarasota County fire crews with the leak that they say has closed the northbound lanes of the roadway from 47th Street to Mecca Drive.
Motorists can take U.S. 301 as an alternate route.
