Dense fog advisory issued, lanes of Interstate 75 reopened after fatal crash

Here’s what you might see on your Tuesday morning commute.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for the Tampa Bay area with visibility is less than a quarter-mile in some areas. The advisory is in effect until 9 a.m.

All lanes are clear after a crash at Cortez Road and York Drive.

Northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Venice were reopened shortly after 8 a.m. The interstate was closed for hours overnight and into Tuesday morning after a fatal crash near mile marker 193.

Interstate 75

• Crash at Interstate 4, Tampa, roadblock;
• Crash in northbound lanes at mile marker 196, Nokomis, roadblock in left lane;
• Crash in northbound lanes at mile marker 198, Sarasota, roadblock in left and center northbound lanes.

Interstate 275

• Reports of fog in the Tampa Bay area;
• Crash in northbound lanes at mile marker 23, Fifth Avenue North, St. Petersburg, no roadblock reported;
• Crash in the southbound lanes at 54th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, roadway open.

Sunshine Skyway

• Fog reported on the bridge, drivers should use caution.

Manatee Avenue/State Road 64

• No major incidents to report, traffic is flowing.

Cortez Road

• Crash at York Drive, all lanes are clear.

State Road 70

• No major incidents to report, traffic flowing.

Other crashes of note:

• 50th Street West at U.S. 19, Palmetto, roadway clear;
• Moccasin Wallow Road at 71st Avenue East, Palmetto, no roadblock reported;
• Bee Ridge Road at South Shade Avenue, Sarasota, roadblock on Bee Ridge Road;
• 1000 block of 51st Avenue West, Bradenton, no roadblock reported;
• State Road 618 westbound at mile marker 5, Tampa, roadblock in westbound right lane.
