Sen. Steube files bill to put lights out on daylight saving time in Florida
State Sen. Greg Steube, R-Sarasota, has filed a bill that proposes doing away with the observance of daylight saving time in Florida.
Steube’s legislation, SB 858, proposes that Florida and all it’s political subdivisions observe standard time year-round. The bill was filed on Nov. 13.
If the bill passes and is signed by the governor, it would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2019.
