Kentucky man killed in overnight crash
A Kentucky man was killed in a crash Tuesday morning along State Road 776 in Sarasota County.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Subaru SUV driven by 29-year-old Jason Swearingin of Louisville, Ky., was traveling north on State Road 776 just north of Adams Road around 2 a.m. Tuesday when Swearingin did not navigate a curve.
The SUV went off the road and side-swiped a tree in the median and rotated before the right side of the vehicle struck a second tree.
Swearingin was killed as a result of the impact, according to FHP.
