Bradenton motorcyclist killed after colliding with boat being towed

A Bradenton motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning after colliding with a boat being towed by another vehicle, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Frederick E. Grayson, 55, died at the scene of the 11:10 a.m. crash at U.S. 41 and Old U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County, the report said.

Grayson was driving a 2007 Honda motorcycle northbound on U.S. 41 behind a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 67-year-old Lakeland man, the report said.

The pickup, which was towing a boat, slowed to make a U-turn, and the motorcycle did not slow or stop before impact, the report said. Grayson, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle.

No other injuries were reported. The FHP said alcohol was not a factor, and no charges were filed.
