Citizens have opportunity to talk directly to police about crime in their communities

On Thursday, Bradenton police officers will meet with members of the community to hold discussions about their neighborhoods and debut a new armored surveillance vehicle.

The Bradenton Police Department will host two Community Squad Meetings in the 1200 block of 15th Street West on Thursday. The first will run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the second from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The meetings allow residents to interact with officers to discuss issues in their neighborhood.

Police will also show off their new armored car that has been outfitted with surveillance equipment. The surveillance vehicle will spend time in different areas that have seen an increase in crimes in an effort to deter criminals.

The location for the meeting is chosen based on crime stats, calls for service and citizen complaints.

Any questions regarding the Community Squad Meeting should be directed to Assistant Chief Josh Cramer at (941) 932-9320 or by email at josh.cramer@cityofbradenton.com. As always, citizens may report crime issues to the department through our email at crimetips@cityofbradenton.com.
