Don’t let a DUI haunt your driving record this Halloween. Get a sober driver

A DUI could haunt your driving record for years to come, but getting a sober driver this weekend could prevent that.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers will conduct a DUI Wolfpack Operation to look for impaired drivers on the roads the weekend before Halloween.

The operation, to be held in Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto, Hardee and Highlands counties, will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday and continue through 5 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers will be mobile on the roads to monitor traffic and watch for impaired drivers.

Florida law considers a driver with blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or higher to be impaired. Drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 percent higher are also in violation of Florida law.

Motorists can dial *FHP (*347) from any cell phone to report an impaired driver or require roadside assistance.
